Software Engineers
Cascaad engineers are rigorous developers who are curious about how things work. They lean on large levers to get more done, faster, and enjoy applying new tools to the new opportunities afforded by today's web. They endeavor to solve real-world problems for real people (including the rest of the company).
General requirements:
Some web experience required (scripting, widgets, browsers, web servers, etc.)
Affinity for rapid prototyping and test-driven development
Flexibility when faced with complex challenges
Previous startup experience strongly preferred
Java Engineers
Degreed in CS (graduate preferred) with experience in large-scale distributed systems written in Java, leveraging XML/JSON based RESTful APIs and ESB/Queue based architectures.
Research Engineer
Experience with implementing high-performance natural language processing, information retrieval, or machine learning algorithms.
Cloud-Computing System Administrator
We are looking for a senior (UNIX) Systems Administrator with BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent and with experience in managing a complex, distributed and high traffic Internet application environment.
The platform is mainly built around Java related technologies and will be deployed on Amazon Web Services. You will share the responsibility for setup, operation and maintenance of the platform's content delivery infrastructure consisting of virtual servers, using the latest and best common practices available. You will be interacting with software developers on the matters of application deployment, monitoring and debugging. It is essential that you have significant experience with high volume dynamic web sites in order to scale the application into the multi-million registered users category, and with most of the following:
Debian linux configuration, custom packages
complex distributed virtualized environments (Amazon ec2, sbs, sqs)
java application servers (jboss, glassfish, tomcat, resin)
message bus infrastructures (rabbitmq, activemq)
automation tools and languages (make, perl, puppet)
monitoring tools (nagios, jmx, snmp)
In addition you should be self-motivated, pro-active, and work well as part of a growing team. Perfect English skills (written and spoken) are mandatory.
